Inishbofin: the movie

The Dolphins experienced a heatwave, torrential rain and some great diving on our July 2025 diving trip to the Inishbofin group of islands.

There to record the (mainly) highs of an exceptional trip, were Diving Officer, Bernard Picton, Reg Rea & Eileen Kelly. The video shows some of the hardy group of divers who were able to enjoy the diving, training for Ocean Diver (congratulations Hannah Cummings!), or polish instructor skills.

The clarity of Bernard's videos is stunning, and this little guy is a still image taken from one of his close encounters. However, some decent results were also had with more modest kit - certainly, enough to give a flavour of what to expect at this great diving destination.

For Reg and Eileen, it was a nostalgic trip as they first dived at Inishbofin some 40 years ago with good friends, Colin and Stephanie Mitchell, and Ivor McCaw. Their verdict: "As good as ever".
