Lovely day for a dive
A lovely dive was had on the Alastor by David, Peter and Terry, Mal and Conor Lamb with Will as shore cover. The sun was shining and the wind that was meant to be blowing wasn’t. The viz was excellent for this site ranging from 5-7 or 8 metres. We took our time going out to have a good look around and get some video and, the first time for me, we could see the wreck well before we got to it. We went along the port side to the bow, then directly to the cabin, up the funnel and back round the port side to the line. We found massive dahlia anemones and watched a couple of ballan wrasse for a while. Back to the line and a relaxed return trip. Max depth 20.3 metres with an average of 14.5 metres, dive time of 52 mins and water temperature of 9°. Great wee outing with chat with the Lisburn crowd and some food and a drink at Balloo House after.
