An early start for Bernard, Connor and David as we headed for Rathlin Island for a day of diving. With the thermometer reading -2°C as we drove into Ballycastle, it certainly felt like winter had arrived! Our first dive was on the SS Lough Garry, a fantastic wreck dive with excellent visibility. The water temperature was a surprisingly comfortable 15°C, which meant David was able to ignore the fact that his drysuit had decided to spring a leak! After the first dive, we refuelled with coffee, sandwiches and biscuits on the picnic benches outside the Manor House on Rathlin, taking in the stunning island views before heading back out. The second dive was at the western end of the island in Church Bay, and it didn't disappoint. Plenty of marine life on display and lots to explore beneath the surface made for another excellent dive. Two great dives, good company, and a brilliant day on and around Rathlin Island.
